Since replacing MIL-DTL-27500, NEMA WC27500 has been a popular standard for aerospace and industrial electric cable. Recently, NEMA updated the standard to “Revision B", which includes the noteworthy changes below:
· Added basic wire symbols for AS22759/51–/58, /93–/96, and /193–/196
· Added jacket symbols 27 and 77 for a new abrasion-resistant XL-ETFE jacket material
· Added HS/HD symbols to represent a heavy silver-coated shield
· Added an alternate color code table for primary wires less than 0.031 in.
· Corrected the formulas for maximum cable diameter and cable weigh
